When you create an account, we collect your email address. When you use the Service, we log API requests, including the queried location, report mode, timestamp, and associated API key for quota tracking and usage analytics.
2. How We Use Information
We use your information to provide and improve the Service, manage accounts and quotas, communicate account-related notices, and analyze usage patterns. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
3. Data Storage and Security
Account data is stored in a Supabase backend. Saved reports are associated with your account. We implement reasonable security measures, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
The Service may use essential cookies and local storage for authentication, session management, and interface preferences (such as language selection). We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or cross-site profiling.
5. Third-Party Services
GeoBrief reports query third-party open data sources (NASA, NOAA, OpenStreetMap, Open-Meteo, HDX/OCHA, etc.). Location queries are transmitted to these services. Archivist does not control the privacy practices of these third-party data providers.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., authentication infrastructure) or as required by law.
7. Data Retention
Account information is retained while your account is active. Saved reports are retained until you delete them. Usage logs may be retained for operational and analytical purposes. You may request account deletion by contacting support.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact support@archivistgeo.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
